Topic: RE: cycles worse after rny? what?
It wouldnt hurt to call your OB but i am 5 months out,  and the drastic weightloss, hormone level changes etc, our bodies are resetting.

There is so much going on on the inside,  you may just be along fo rthe ride for awhile until your body has time to stabalize its hormone levles again.

Topic: A Quick Question...
Hey, I was just wondering for those of you ladies who have (or had) Poly Cystic Ovary Syndrome, were any of you lucky enough to have children after your surgery? (I mean well after the proper healing process, of course) Also, did your PCOS minimize or go away completely? I was diagnosed when I was 16 and I am 30 now. My husband and I have been trying to have children for going on 10 years now. I have also been known to go for literally years without having my cycle. Just looking for some answers. I'm really hoping that my PCOS will disappear once I have my surgery. Anyone with info on this topic, please respond! I'm desperate! Thank you.

Topic: RE: Lap Band and PCOS Question
Hello I have PCOS and my primary dr has said if I can find the lap band helps even if you have pcos then he would refer me. I have had PCOS since I was in my early teens. I have infertility, diabetes, hypertention, hyperlipidemia, and many other health problems. I feel depressed and wish something would help. I have excercised, trained and ran a 5k, still did not lose next to no weight. Very very depressing. I hope I can find some answers here.
Thanks for listening to me.

I know I have to work harder due to the PCOS..so I'm at the gym twice a day 5 times a week..the exercise improves my energy..I don't have an issue with sex drive but I'm sure it would help in that department too..Once I get to my goal weight my 'reward' is going to be laser hair removal for my chin..my hair growth isn't horrible but its still there and I hate plucking everyday. Best of luck!

I'm only 4 weeks out and I've had 1 normal period since my RNY so I'm too early to really give advice about this. However, I was going through the exact same thing a few months BEFORE my RNY..my OB upped the amount of metformin I was on. I would give your doc a call and see what she/he has to say.

Oh, also, you are familiar with glycemic index? Here is a link to some information I have prepared that may be helpful:

The truth is the PCOS probably IS contributing to some of your current difficulty but given that you have already managed to lose 93 pounds and that the syndrome has been in the background fighting you the whole way, you have acheived an enormous victory. I assume you are already taking Metformin?
