My endo diagnosed my PCOS based upon the darkened skin, facial hair, and ratio of hormones (i think fsh to luteinizing hormone) at a particular time in my cycle. The ratio was supposed to be 3 or less but mine was 12+.
So she perscribed metformin. I took for 3 months as directed and I noticed my crazy acne had settled down. At that particular point in my cycle she retested my hormone ratio. It was good. That is how she knew the metformin was working.
Oh if I could trade with you I would... I'm the opposite. 6 weeks out from gastric bypass and mine has not stopped. I have an appointment this week with the Gyno to talk about it and options cause I am tired of dealing with it.

I actually see Dr. Falcone at the Cleveland Clinic and I know he does the drilling also. Was there an issue that led them to deciding to drill? I do not ovulate but he hasnt mentioned the drilling to me yet.
Hi all! I had VSG over 6 weeks ago and I have had no signs of my period coming. I was never regular before surgery and was hoping with weight loss my periods would return without meds (provera or BCP). For those of you with irregular cycles, did your period eventually come back on its own?
Thanks!
Congrats!!!!!! That is awesome!!! :D I also have PCOS and have been trying to lose weight and I'm thinking about getting the surgery. I do want kids, but i need to make sure my boyfriend and i are financially stable before it. But this gives me hope that i will eventually get pregnant. Thank you for the post! Definitely made me think this will happen to me one day! :D
