I am new to obesity help. I have been a member for a long time but have not had time to really update anything until I actually went through with my surgery. I was diagnosed with PCOS at 18 after my Freshman year of college my periods were irregular, I gained a ton of weight and I had black chest hair in a little strip between my boobies. My periods were two months apart and were long and crampy. I knew something was up. My Mom took me to my OBGYN and I explained to her about the symptoms she then ran some blood tests and diagnosed me with PCOS. I was immediately put on Birth Control and Metformin XR and they started to help regulate everything. All of a sudden my weight ballooned and I was not able to do anything about lost weight gained weight lost weight gained weight. All of a sudden I then decided to have VSG and something happened. I had to go off birth control for surgery and I was like ah I am not gonna get a period. All of a sudden this past Tuesday I got a real natural period. I then realized I ovulated.

I gained 40 pounds during my pregnancy. I got pregnant at 167 delivered at 207. I was devistated I went over 200 pounds. Initially after I had my son I lost 20 pounds and got down to 187. My son is almost 8 months old and I'm stuck at 190 pounds and fear if I don't get this figured out In going to continue to head in the wrong direction. :( I'm now realizing my real issue with food is back. I cannot trust it. My weight is beyond out of control. I try to make healthy choices but it seems as soon as I wake up in the morning it's bad choice after bad choice in excess. I keep eating because I'm upset at my original choice.i believe I eat out of boredom. I'm to the point at 190 pounds that I cannot look in the mirror. I'm thankful I'm at the end of pumping so I can indulge in diet pills and eliminating food from my life. I did not have gastric bypass surgery 5.5 years ago to fail now. I've got to figure this out!!
I have ALWAYS had regular periods and just wasnt ovulating on my ownand have been diagnosed with PCOS. It did start with an ultrasound where they found cyts but I also have Athancosis Nigricans an Insulin resistance. It definatly sounds to me like you likely have PCOS but im not a doctor. Go get checked out. If your trying to TTC and your not ovulating they will give you some Clomid and hopefully you will be good. Worked for me!
Hi, I have some personal experience with the use of Metformin during pregnancy. In 2008 I got pregnant immediately after stopping my birth control. At the time I wasn't taking Metformin since it always caused me to have stomach issues. The obgyn I was using at the time never mentioned that Metformin lowered the rate of miscarriage but she wasn't comfortable with me being pregnant at my weight. Around 9 weeks along I suffered a miscarriage. A little over a year later along with a new obgyn I got pregnant again immediately after stopping my birth control pills. As soon as I got my first positive test she called me in a prescription of Metformin. I fully believe that the Metformin helped me keep my pregnancy. I had my son at 34 weeks due to low amniotic fluid, but he was completely healthy. So I am a big advocate of using Metformin during pregnancy if you suffer from PCOS. I believe she said that without Metformin PCOS gives us a 45% chance of miscarriage and on it we are at the average rate. I was diagnosed with it when I was 21 and told that would probably never be able to have children because of the cysts that were all over my ovaries. Ladies just know that sometimes DR's are wrong. Both of my pregnancies I got pregnant after only 1 month of trying.
Nope, no desire for kids. I just hate being fat :(
I was diagnosed with PC OS in 1992 after searching for an answer to the symptoms I was having. I ended up being an article and women's world magazine. I've had so many surgeries for cleanouts and removal of cysts and D&Cs it's not funny.
When I moved back to the United States from Ireland, I was told I have a fibroid in my uterus and there's nothing to worry about. It ended up growing so big that it was busting out of my uterus because one day I was having hemorrhaging and bleeding and clots that were unnatural.
After three visits to the emergency room in today's they finally listen to me and went in and saw the fibroid. I was only 44 at the time and my uterus had to be taken out. I had told my doctor I wanted to fibroid taken out when she found it but I was told it didn't pose a threat. Now I wish that I went on my instinct. I would suggest having any fibroids removed.
Please do yourself a favor and get a second opinion. I don't know what this Diane medicine is and I will look it up, but the only extra medicine I had was a Lupron Depot.
