Topic: RE: Progesterone DURING Pregnancy
I went to a reproductive specialist to concieve our two kids, and had to do the suppositories with both. I ended up with two very healthy pregnancies and did great. I know now too that there are injections that can be given that high risk pregnancy doctors use regularly. SO, I assume that it helps. I know I had no issues but could have been bc I used them.
Topic: RE: I have a question? might be TMI
LEarn something new every day. Never knew those where from PCOS. I got them all the time and same thing with the black spots. Anyway, interesting to learn something new.
Topic: RE: What is this?
The mucus usually is a sign of ovulation. Specially if it is mid cycle. My cycles are more regular now than ever before. Has surgery in March of 2008. Pretty sure if not for the IUD we would have another baby. Anyway, the mucus is probably ovulation. They say once you have surgery that pregnancy can happen even for those that have tried for years with no luck. Specially with PCOS. Didnt think so, but I cycle regularly now. Which is totally off for me.
THe good thing about this site is there is never tmi, we are all here to read and help if possible. Best of luck. If you dont want to get pregnant yet, be sure you are using something. THat is also something that I was warned about before surgery that I didnt think I would have to worry about. Glad I did the IUD anyway. Cant imagine haven a baby this early post op. SOrry got off topic, but.......

Topic: RE: do i have to be trying to conceive to get dianosed
I didn't know skin tags were part of it too, but I have had them in my arm pits since I was a young teenager. I had them taken off twice, only to have them come back so I quit trying. I was diagnosed when I was 16. I had irregular periods accompanied by major major cramps.
Topic: RE: Anyone have an ablation procedure?
I had a uterine ablation in May 08 due to excessive bleeding.
I have been diagnosed with PCOS since 1984 and always had period issues.
The proceedure in itself was not bad.Under anesthesia of course, the lining of your uterus
is "burned out".There apparently different methods of doing this so check with your MD.Apparently a sensor is involved and the MD is informed how long, how much, is ablated.
I was supplied with pictures of the proceedure. You can see where previously my uterus was pink and post-op gray.Post-op I layed low for a couple of days, mild cramps, little drainage.
7 months out.....I love it!! No more periods, and all the mess that goes with that.
Hope this has been helpful. My best to you!

Topic: RE: i think i have PCOS
I have had PCOs for about 10 years. The last couple of years I have taken spironalactone, which is good for me at keeping my period regualr as well as just having it once a month. My advise is to see an endocrinologist as well. But I had the RNY and my periods are a little lighter and the hair on my face grown a little clower but it will always be there I;m sure. The deal with PCOS is that it makes it harder for you to lose weight. Thats the problem, its all about insulin levels and stuff as well. The problem is that it makes your body think you are ovulating but you really are not. Its a strange thing, my sister also has it. We both are over weight and we both have one child but she got hers later on after she had her child mine was prediagnoses when I was in my twenties, and I was able to ave a child using fertility drugs. Mr Surgeon says that the PCOS symptoms may eventually go away and it will be easier to have a child, however when you have the surgery and you lose weight a lot of the factors that cause this go away. Its a crap shoot at times.
Good Luck!

Yes, switch. I would suggest seeing an endocrinolgist...ask your gyno about seeing a specialist. Be your own health advocate.
Topic: RE: PCOS symptoms coming back
I think my PCOS symptoms have a lot to do with insulin and insulin resistance. It would make sense that if you are eating more sugar your insulin resistance is up and so is the amount of extra insulin in your body.
I am only 2 months out but I completely understand the struggle with food. GOod Luck

i think that all surgeries work if you follow the eating plan. i know a bandster who just had a baby so you don't have to get rny but if you have major eating issues you need to get the rny or maybe even ds. good luck and thanks for your concern. today is my third day back on track with my food. keep your fingers crossed for me.
