Hi there, just wondering if you took metformin post op? I'm trying to decide on whether I should go back to prevent so many stalls from continuing to happen? I'm only 3 months out.
Hello, everyone. I'm almost 3 months post op and am wondering why I have been stalling so much during this process. I am not on metformin anymore because I was told by my surgeon's office that I wouldn't need metformin after surgery. I think they were thinking about diabetics, though because I think I could still benefit from metformin at this point to help with my stalling so much. The only thing I could think of is that I could be a little better with my water but I'm good on calories and protein. Any thoughts?
I have not had remission of hirutism.
I spend thousands to get it lazered off after surgery. I watch my carbs. SOME of the chin hair is growing back. It is not as bad as before...but it i still there.
The treasure trail and the thick thigh hair is also still there.
RNY Surgery: 12/31/2013;
Current weight (2/27/2015) 139lbs, ~14% body fat
Three pounds below Goal!!! Yay !
I had my surgery done almost 5 years ago. Pre-op weight was 326lbs. I hit my goal weight 2 years ago which was 135 but decided I could afford to lose another 10lbs. So I have maintained my weight of 125lbs for over a year now. I have poly cystic ovaries and I am still having trouble finding a birthcontrol (pill form) that regulates my period. In October my gyno suggested the Depo for the first time. I had my first shot in Oct & my second one in Dec. I have never gained back any weight since I have had my surgery nor have I ever had any weight gain with any forms of birth control until now. I haven't changed my calories intakes or diet or my exercise routine in fact after I noticed weight gain I went even healthier (If that's even possible) and increased my cardio and I haven't lost a pound. Since I have been on the depo I have gained 20lbs. I am VERY upset by this! I know some people say they gain back 20 to 50lbs but I have and make a conscious effort NOT to be that group that does. My family physician suggested ADIPEX-P. I just started taking it today with no side effects. HAS ANYONE EXPERIENCED THIS AMOUNT OF WEIGHT GAIN WITH THE DEPO SHOT? ALSO HAS ANYONE TRIED ADIPIX-P (POST OP) AND HAS IT HELPED ETC? ANY FEED BACK ON EITHER QUESTIONS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!!! THANKS!!!!! :)
Hi all!
Out of curiosity - did/do any of you have HS as a side effect of the PCOS - and if so, has it improved since surgery?
agreed! while I love the exposure - I didn't like the "fat ass" comments either. I'm going to give it one more watch and see what I think, but I don't think its really much focussed on the PCOS
i saw a bit of it... i like the exposure she is trying to give to pcos but i dont know how many people are actually going to watch and listen when she calls herself a fat ass.
yes, that is how I ended up with twins. apparently it was blocked by a cyst and when it burst the eggs that were held back all came out. three eggs fertilized, only two formed. I did not have surgery for it, sorry to hijack.

Has anyone had this problem? I am having surgery on Tuesday January 13th to try and unblock them, but I would like to find out some success stories.
TIA!
Jennifer
Hello All,
I just had my RNY on 17 Nov. I was on birth control for my PCOS problems, and in the middle of a pill pack when I had my surgery. I was able to continue taking my birth control, but I have been having heaving spotting since then. I don't feel like I am losing, and I have not deviated off the diet prescribed by my surgeon. I do not have a scale at home (I am afraid to weigh myself and have no result). At my post op at day 10 I had lost 11 pounds. Everyone tells me weight should be falling off, and I should be getting smaller and smaller every day. My husband says he can see it in my face, but I think I look the same. I am petrified that my PCOS is not gone, and this was my driving factor to have the WLS. I am 31, been pregnant 5 times, 1 living child. I want more children. Is anyone else afraid of these same things? Not to mention, I am a nurse and probably researching myself to death.
