I have PCOS. My husband and I have been talking about trying to have a baby. i am on my last roll of birth control pills. would i call the dr and see if he can help or just try and stay off the pill and see what happens. my hubby says just finish the packet and then not take the pills.

I would stay off the pill,I have had pcos for 14 years and have never had a problem getting pregnant . If you have never tried to get pregnant and you dont know if you can or not , I would finish my packet and try for atleat 6 months to a year to get pregnant on my own before calling the doctor.

Hi, I'm a diabetic also, pre-op. I never realized that low fat milk had so much sugar in it. I usually look at the sugar carbs on canned fruit but never thought about looking for them on milk. Thanks for the insight...I also drink low-carb orange juice....it is yummy. I'm going in on April 24 for my pre-op testing, so wish me luck. I'm really hoping to get off of insulin completely...those insulin shots sure are getting tiresome, especially when on a vacation.

Yes, go off for 6 months...save the Dr. visit! Good luck on your journey. Mine ended well with adoption, 2 beautiful kids. But beware of fertility drugs. They can have weird side effects, I speak from experience. They can also be a godsend...just be careful and aware!

Just checking in to see how things are going for you?? I went thru all kinds of infertility. I found a doctor near Chicago that literally took over my cycle. Put my hormones almost in remission with birth control then gave me meds to ovulate when and how he wanted me too. Low and behold I had my second child. First child was on Clomid. Third child I went on meds for insulin resistance and went off of birth control for 1 month after being on the insulin resistance meds for 6 months and got pregnant. Good luck and hopefully everything goes good for you. Brigitte

Well, here's my recent experience: My husband and I Have been married 7 years, with me... on and off the pill depending on my mood.  Then I lost 60 pounds, and decided, once again, I didn't like how the pill made me feel. So I went off it. Got pregnant two weeks later... I'm now 6 weeks preggers! :)
We're having a girl! Naming her Zoë Elizabeth, and EDD is December 5th!
