Does any one know of a way to remove them? I know some use clippers, but there has to be another way to do this at home. Would something like wart remover help burn them off you think? I asked my Dr. And it's way too expensive to have them done by her. Thank you

Hi EeeVee R I do not know if wart removal works. If you find out that it does please let me know. I do know that if you tie dental floss or white thread around the tag, it will cut off the blood supply. Once the blood supply has been cut off they die. I do not have the nerve to try this but my grandmother used to do this all of the time. Skin tags are a family trait. Yolanda

As the previous poster said ... tying them off does work. I have also "clipped"ine with nail clippers. They just bleed a lot afterward. Jen

OUCH! My mom ties them off and I have removed them with clippers and they DO bleed alot. I hate those things. I had one that bothered me - it was on my eyelid. I went to the doc and said the right words and I was referred to a dermatologist. While I was there, he went ahead and burned the rest of them off. Insurance covered it all. I got lucky that time.

Can you share what the 'right words' are ;) I'd sure appreciate some ideas on how to get them removed and have insurance pay for them

Well, the one on my eyelid would sometimes get in my field of vision and I would try to bru**** away, forgetting what it was. Brushing it away would irritate it and cause it to bleed sometimes. The one close to my hairline would get accidentally get pulled when I combed my hair and get irritated and bleed, etc. The ones on my neck prevented me from wearing jewelry because they would snag and hurt. Basically, if they are causing you some sort of physical discomfort or interfering with your everyday activities, it is not cosmetic to have them removed. Insurance should pay.
