Facial Hair??
Hey Amy... I am 19 months out and before, during, and after my WLS I tried Vaniqua, Spirolactone, etc. and it was all to no avail. I still have to shave every morning. I talked to my endocrinologist last week and she released me (woo hoo) since that is really the only major problem I am having with PCOS now. She and I discussed laser hair removal and she said her experience with patients has shown that the treatment is effective in at least reducing the amount of hair that grows in and is visible. I hate having razor burn, and using concealer on my shin/upper neck area everyday, but if that's the worst that I have to deal with now with having PCOS I'll take it... I used to have no periods, skin tags, type II diabetes, etc. - after WLS that all went away... the whole hair thing wouldn't bother me either, except that in the intimate moments when I am with my boyfriend or something. He will go to cup my face in his hands and I pull away for fear that he may discover the hair and bumps (how he hasn't noticed after dating for over a year I will never know - I guess I hide it well)... he thinks it is him I am pulling away from and it's not... it's all very frustrating...
