Missing cycle

I do have PCOS. I've been able to manage regular cycles after the birth of my son. I just recently missed my cycle for the month of December and no i'm not pregnant. My tubes are tied, cut, snipped and burned! or at least they better be. I was banded on the 28th of December. I don't know why my cycle was MIA for December. Stress maybe, I don't know. I just wish my cycle would show up. I have put on a considerable amount of weight over the past year which has resulted in my decision to have the band. Hopefully, my cycle will show up in Jan. or as soon as I start dropping the pounds. Can anybody relate to this. Thanks for your feedback.

You just had major surgery. This can affect your monthly cycle on top of the PCOS. Unless, your snip, tuck, and tie doc didn't do his business well. On another note, did you know that many years ago, a woman could not get her tubes tied without her husbands written permission. Let them try that crap to a woman nowadays and somebody will be hurtin in their own private parts. Now, as you go along on your banded journey, keep in mind that the estrogen stored in our fat is released via weight loss. This too, can also affect your monthly cycle. Just keep on top of things. As always, remember that out of all that is involved, one reason for the monthly cycle is to shed the lining of the uterus. Missing too many periods can lead to hyperplasia. In my case, I went 8 months without a period many years ago, around 1989. I will be 52 on the 5th and dealing with PCOS since then, back in the stone age. And the treatment I was given way, way back then for stage three of hyperplasia was to take a large amount of hormones that caused cancer in Beagles. Like the OB/GYn/Endo specialist said, "But then, you are not a Beagle." It took all that was in me from barking at him after he said that. Then he sent me to another specialist, someone who was well known in cancer/OB/GYN. This was because I was in stage three of hyperplasia. I had to have a large cyst removed off my ovary on top of an much needed D & C. So, remember, missed periods should not be overlooked. Weight loss can affect this as estrogen is released from fat cells. Plus, you just had major surgery, too. But, if you are dealing with PCOS, just in case, you should keep on top of things. Good luck on your banded journey. Halina
