Does Spotting Mean Anything?

I'm 8 months post op and have been on the BC Patch. All of a sudden this month, I'm getting a lot of break through bleeding/spotting which has never happened since I've been on the patch or before surgery when I was on the pill for years. Could this mean my PCOD is getting better or the hormones are taking a drastic change or something? Just wondering if anyone has wisdom on this. Thanks for any input! Ann
