Hey just wanted to say hello to everyone and introduce myself. I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was in college so it has been a few yrs. I was off the glucophage until a couple of months ago(I was in denial) and then my facial hair started getting really bad. My Gyn recommended I get this surgery although I had been done some researching for a year now. My periods are horrible probably once every 5 months then it stays on for another couple of months and I was diagnosed with anemia because of this but just wanted to say hi. I am still in the appt stage of WLS.

Hi, I'm new to this board also. Same thing I was diagnosed in college. I just had my WLS 9/1/04 and at 2 weeks post-op had lost 25lbs. Good luck in your journey. Brook

Hi LaTonya! Welcome to the boards! I was also diagnosed quite a few years ago and spent many years on glucophage. I had my surgery on 8/3 and am down 52 lbs so far. I had a really bad case of PCOS whereas I had no period at all for...well...my longest time was almost 3 years. I still do not have cycles unless on birth control pills...which I am taking now. Having this surgery is the best thing I have done for myself. I wish you the best of luck in your quest for information on getting this surgery. Kristy 248/196/140
