Hi all, I am new to the PCOS board. I just had open RNY on JUly 6, 2004. I tried to convince my insurance company that PCOS was a factor in my obesity even my Dr's did but alas they sent out the same generic letter over and overf. I did self pay, I don't know which hurt more the surgery or the hit to the pocket book. I was only diagnosed with PCOS last summer although 7 years ago I had a cyst rupture while I was at work. I never ever want to go thru that again. We have been blessed with one child 6 years no birth control and a lot of luck. Now I am just trying to recover, I have good days and bad. Unfortunate and nice to know that there are others out there with PCOS and we can all talk about it. I felt so alone when I was diagnosed. Tanis 272/259/140

Hi Tanis I also have this condition and I have to say I am doing so much better in so many ways. I have to admit that dam hair growth under my chin is still there but I have normal ontime periods which I have not had in yrs and I truely feel it only helps this condition the more you lose. Good luck
