Hi All, I have hair on my chin and it drives me crazy. I have done everything from laser, pucking, waxing, and even electrolosis, and meds that the dr has given me. The meds are doing nothing and I am tired of taking them. I was wondering if anyone that had facial hair, has it either thinned out or stopped all together. Stopped or became less noticable would be great! Please help I am very frustrated with this! Kim 261/195

Kimmy - I can't help you but I am waiting with baited breath as mine just keeps getting worse and worse and worse! I'm only shy of 3 months out so I don't know if the surgery and weight loss will help eventually or not. I am thinking electrolysis but you say that didn't work for you? Please don't tell me this because I'm getting desperate!!! Dina

I have the dreaded hair on the chinne *****hin too. I hate it!!! I have tried waxing, and electrolosis too. I have found that a script my doctor has given has helped slow it down some. It's called Sprionolactone. I started out at a smaller dosage but he moved me up to 100MG once daily. The only time you can't take it is during pregnancy. I will start taking it again as soon as I deliver the 25th of this month. I really hope when I'm post op, my hair problem wont be so bad. I have to wax at least every other week or pluck it stinks!!! My beautician loves it when I'm on the meds she can really tell a difference. My hair is softer not so stiff. Good luck to you! Looking forward to a less hairy chin too! Good luck on your Journey.

Kimmy Have you tried that new cream they have out. Gah, what's the name of that stuff...Vaniqa. I haven't tried it, but would be very interested to know if it works.

I did the plucking thing for many years until I went for electrolysis (which didn't help). The technician told me that plucking is worst because it can cause the hair shaft to go crooked or build scar tissue. Both would make it harder to do electrolysis again. I am shaving daily in the shower and I use that new Aveeno lotion that is supposed to slow hair growth. It's not a prescription...I think that it's working...... I hope that it is..... Susan

My endocrinologist told me a while ago when i was on glucophage for PCOS that the hair growth was the last thing to slow down, and it could take up to nine months to see a difference. I am wondering if it would be the same situation now after surgery. I use Nair for the face. I hate it so much. It's gross and makes me feel like a man.

I feel the same way...I won't shave my face in front of my husband because I am so humiliated that I have to do it. I tried the Nair for face and I had a bad reaction and turned all red and rashy (that was far worse than shaving). I am saving my $$$ for a laser hair treatment. I don't know how well they work but I'll try anything at this point!! Susan

Hi! I went undiagnosed with PCOS for roughly 18 years. When I was officially diagnosed with PCOS, I had 6 of the 7 symptoms. (The only one I haven't had was the actual ovarian cycsts.) I had my surgery just over a year ago. 3 months after my surgery, I had my first period that wasn't drug induced, in two years. 3 months later I had my next period, and since I have had one monthly, and exactly on schedule. (What a change that has been!) Most of the other symptoms are gone, but my facial hair is still here, but it is lighter. But, maybe now, I can have children. Who knows? ~Cyndi
