Hi everyone. My surgery was OCt. 13th 2014.

I hear that most people with PCOS have a period a few days after surgery, but i'm almost 4 weeks out and nothing.

I'm down (from my 6 month wait prior to now) 55lbs. should I be worried?

I'm almost 7 weeks post op and have still not gotten a period. Everyone is different. Eventually you should! Some people just take longer to get it. I wouldn't be concerned yet. Your body is still going through a major change and your hormones are probably all over the place causing your period to not come. Hopefully it will come soon! Best of luck!

I was 9 weeks out before I had mine. A friend of mine had hers at 13 weeks out. It takes the body time to adjust to the weight loss which is sudden and rapid.

My periods have been regular since surgery and before surgery I rarely got one.  I am taking diane-35 as a birth control, not sure if that makes a difference. I did notice my first period after surgery was especially hellish, maybe because I was off Diane-35 for a month.  Severe cramps and extra heavy period.  Since back on Diane periods are lighter and more manageable. I would not worry about it for now, as other have said your body has been through a lot and is probably just adjusting itself.  Give it a few more months and see how things go.  Let us know how it turns out.

We had our surgery the same day!  I had a teeny tine bit of something like a period almost exactly four weeks out.  1-2 days of flow, enough where I needed a pad or something, but nowhere near what I was used to.  I started BC pills that next day (Nov 10th) and everything went great.  Last week, Sunday the 23rd, I started my period in earnest, and it's been going ever since.  This is my first "true" cycle in almost 7 months (pregnancy, miscarriage, PCOS complications, etc all led to the HUGE gap in my cycle).

I fully expect my cycles and my hormones to be a little wonky for the next few months just because of the rapid changes going on in my body.  I wouldn't worry too awfully much at this point, but def call your GYNO if you don't see any action in another few weeks.

I had one about 3 weeks post op, but the next one was 8 weeks later. All my pcos basically went away after the surgery. But it took about 3 months for my body to work itself out. Ended up with a cyst the 2nd cycle after surgery (longest cycle so far). Ever since I have ovulated every time, have the ewcm and all. My body hasn't worked normally ever. The only issue is the crazy heavy cycles, but that is because of iron issues.

I would say give it 90 days and if nothing then go to your gyn.
