Pregnancy after WLS ok?

New to this board, so I would love some encouragement about pregnancy after WLS. I have been diagnosed with PCOS since I was 16 years old. My husband and I have been TTC (trying to concieve) for over 10 years and have done several cycles of fertility meds. After all that, no pregnancy. My doctor wouldn't do IVF because my weight was so high, so here I am.

I know many symptoms of PCOS will disappear with the weight loss, I just want to know if pregnancy is really safe after WLS.

Will I be able to get enough nutrition?

How long do I really have to wait before TTC?

Thanks in advance for any information or advice.

My doc recommends 18 months. They said they saw someone get pregnant 6 months after and lose the baby due to absorption issues . So for a healthy baby wait.

while I'm def not advicating a planned early preg I am 23 wks preg and 6 months post op... concieved- oops- 3 wks out. silly me didn't take the increased fertility after surg seriously being I had some trouble getting preg w my son 4 years ago. as mush as I'm not saying get preg right after surg and my heart truely hurts for those that have lost their lil ones.... I've had all the emotions and fears of what ifs and what have I done.... but 5 months preg I can say that my little girl is developing right on sched and so far her and I are quite healthy.
