What is the best birth control option in your opinion?
Hello fellow Cysters!
I am hoping to have sleeve surgery next month and need to look in birth control a.s.a.p. I haven't been on anything for the past 10 years and never had a scare, probably due to being morbidly obese. Now that I am surgery bound, I am sure with weight loss, pregnancy will need to be avoided like never before. I am out of the loop, what is the best BC pill in your opinion? I would like to try Mirena, but my PCP, said it only works if you have had children. Help!

(sorry, I checked my feed, didn't notice what board you were on... I don't know enough about PCOS to help) xoxo

Nooooo mirena don't just work if u have had children. Makes the insertion less painful. But it's not that bad! Just ask for pain med and or Valium! Lol
My sis in law had mirena in before kids.
There is copper T as well! Both proven to completely be able to start having regular cycles after removal.
I know after RNY u can't do bcp's as the pills won't be absorbed properly. So I tried mirena and copper t. Both wouldn't stay. Body rejected them. So now I either have to do depo or implant or nuva ring. Hmmmm
