Hello! I am almost 8 months post-op. I have had pcos since the age of 13. Periods before surgery were very rare. I could go years without one if I didn't let the doctor know. Well since surgery I've had two. Which is a huge plus for me but they've disappeared again. My main reason for having surgery was to gain my health back but my favorite reason for having surgery was to become pregnant when cleared by my surgeon. I am do scared I'll never get pregnant with the way my periods are now. Can anyone give me a glimpse of hope? Thanks!

Yes! I also have PCOS and was infertile. After seeing the Dr and getting my Vit D levels checked he had me take it on a daily basis. I also get a newsletter about pcos and in there they talked about Inositol. It is a suppliment I get at the health store, and I take 2 every day. It helps with hormones, and insulin resistance, therefore getting me to ovulate again. I have 3 boys, so please don`t lose hope! Where there`s a will, there`s a way!! Good luck with everything, and research about the Inositol-not enough people know about this!

You are very welcome! I just posted all this and another link that first told me about the combo of Vit D & Inositol. It`s titled "This Can Help!" in the Forums.

I am 2 years out from having sleeve surgery done and I stayed on the pill for the first year and then went off it and for the first time since starting my period 20 years ago I am regular. I still battle with pcos but losing weight has helped some. I like to call it "remission" and after the surgery I had about 70 pounds gone and had an ultra sound done and my ovaries were clear but here in May I had another one done and there were numerous cyst again. My doctor put me back on the metformin in hopes it will settle everything down again and I feel as if it's working cause I done get the aweful pains as if my ovaries are gonna burst. I have gotten referred back to the ob-gyn but am still waiting for a call. For the first time in my life I feel hopefully that a baby may be in my future.
Good Luck.

Kee.

Hi! I too like you was diagnosed with PCOS at 13. I've been on so many forms of birth control and metformin all these years and still had no periods. I'm 9 going on 10 months post op and went for my ultrasound to see how my ovaries are. to my surprise I got a phone call on wed asking if I was pregnant I of course said NO. But the doctor asked me to take a pregnancy test right away I took 7 and all positive. I'm very skeptical and trying not to get excited but its hard. I go tues to see the obgyn nurse so I'm praying for the continuous good news! I've been on birthcontrol the past 3 months faithfully and metformin for the pcos. So if this is real im not sure what has happened but I certainly understand what your going through!

Ok try to make a long story short. I to was told I had PCOS when I was in my twentys, went on meds got it going started haveing a normal monthley when I was 25. 12 years ago was told I had high blood sugars. My doc ask if I want to get pregant, told him have been trying for 9 years. He told me I will have a 50/50 chance of getting preg if I can get my sugars normal. I now have a 11 1/2 year old boy. Love of my life.
