Just wondering if you have any idea....I am very early in the exploration of wls. Does anyone know if pcos is an approved obesity disease. My bmi is 38 and am wondering if having pcos will allow insurance to cover.

For me it was..I needed two comorbidities...one was PCOS and the other was being pre diabetic.

PCOS didn't count for my insurance (Blue Cross Blue Shield) but the underlying insulin resistance was considered diabetes by my surgeon.  That plus high cholesterol (treated by meds) make up my 2 qualifiers.

Here's my update... My surgeon said pcos will not qualify in itself as a comorbidity, but if you take diabetic medication for it, it will fall under the diabetes co morbidity.

That is good to know!   I have the RX for metformin, but am not currently taking it.
