Question for PCOS'RS

I haven't lost any weight in a while now, and to say I am frustrated doesn't begin to describe how I feel. I exercise, and get all my protein in....and not one pound...just maintaining. I have found that if I do STRAIGHT liquids I do lose weight, but when I go off the liquids I gain it back....SO STRANGE.
SO I have PCOS/METABOLIC SYNDROME/INSULIN RESISTANCE...and Dr said maybe I should go on Metformin...I took it about 8 years ago but it made me sick...I was on 4 pills a day.

So my question is...has anyone seen it make a difference in their weight loss? I really don't want to take it, but I have come to far to just give up now!

I hit my first real stall after my year mark too.  Finally, I've lost 2 pounds so I hope that I am going in the right direction again.

I don't have PCOS, but I would give the Metformin a try.  I have seen others that have had good success on it.  If it doesn't work or makes you sick you can always go off of it.

I think the metformin is worth a shot. If it makes you sick ask for the extended release in a small dose. I'm kind of in the same boat right now, except I'm only 4 months out. The last two months my loss has been extreemly slow (only 5lbs. last month). So I'm trying to go back to my eating basics and I think I'm going to pay my OB/GYN a visit and have her do a blood panel and get her opinion. Good luck!

Metformin actually helps you lose weight. I think you should try and take it again. It gave me dihhrea for four days (keep yourself hydrated) but then your body gets used to it and it begins to work. I haven't had WLS yet but i think if you take the Metformin and stick to a strict diet, and excersise that you will begin to see results.

Did you try the metformin?  Has it helped?  I am in the same boat.  Getting frustrated and don't really know what to change about my diet or exercise plan at this point.  =(
