ovarian drilling

Hi Y'all,

I just wanted to mention to all of you who are TTC / having problems with cycles that you might want to look into ovarian drilling.  I suffered with infertility for many many years caused by PCOS.  OBGYN after OBGYN.  Finally I went to Jeff Goldberg of the Cleveland Clinic (reproductive endocrinologist).  One visit, then he scheduled me for drilling.  Basically it was an outpatient laparoscopic procedure where they make holes in your ovaries (no, I'm not making this up!).  Anyhow, first cycle after the surgery I was pregnant.  15 months later, pregnant again.  For the first time in my life I have had regular cycles (it has now been about 9 years since the drilling).  It doesn't solve all the PCOS problems, but it certainly did this one for me. 

 My cousin has PCOS like myself and tried 4 years of everything TTC. She got a new doctor because her first retired and the new one suggested ovarian drilling. It worked and she is now mommy to one of the cutest kids I have ever seen!!

I actually see Dr. Falcone at the Cleveland Clinic and I know he does the drilling also.  Was there an issue that led them to deciding to drill?  I do not ovulate but he hasnt mentioned the drilling to me yet.
