My situation is not near as severe as yours, I am so sorry that you have to deal with all of that!  Have you visited with your GYN to see if there are any alternatives to help you out the 4 weeks before surgery?

I was on low estra b/f my surgery and it did wonders.  I'm now on a chewable birth control called Fem-Con and I can tell a difference.  My Glucophage really helped me w/ the periods also.  I would go years without a period and that lining would just continually build up.

I was not required to stop my pills before surgery.  I was switched to the Fem-con a couple of weeks before my surgery.  I took them with me to the hospital and turned them in.  I stayed 2 nights and would just ask for them each night and theyre was no problem with them giving them to me since they were chewable.  I did start my period 3 days after surgery, while still on the active pills, and it lasted for 2 weeks.  Then i got to the inactive pills and had ANOTHER period.  But since starting back on the active pills have not had any breakthrough bleeding or spotting.  To be honest, I'm pretty excited to be having periods.  I went YEARS with out them and had to take medication to make them start back.  When he did that, he started me on the lo estrin pills and they worked great.  I will be switching back as soon as I am cleared to swallow pills.

The bleeding issue happend to me about a year ago. I bled for about two months straight. My OB/GYN finally put me on metFormin and it seems to have been worked ( knock on wood). The only issue I have now is acne and hair growing like weeds on my face. I wax once every two to three weeks. I also see an endocrinologist and he is currently adjusting the metFormin to control the facial hair growth. PCOS really sucks so I feel your pain. Are you on any medications?

Talk to your doctor about using Spiritone, it's a med that help work with metformin to stop hair growth from pcos, it works wonders.

I actually opened a page so I could respond to you:)..first off I can 100 percent relate to you I have the EXACT same issue I probably bought more tampons then anyone on the planet (at least that's how i feel)..About a year ago my doctor suggested an IUD ..I was not very excited about the though of something being inside me at all times..it actually bugged me out for a while...I did how ever notice a MASSIVE change in my flow...now mind you it was still bad for awhile it never completely went away...but i have had it for a little over a year and the bleeding still can be bad at times but nothing like what it was before....I also have found that taking aleve once a day as an anti inflammatory can REALLY help....craziest thing for me was that I never really had horrible craps after the IUD was placed ...its good for 5 years the surgeons have made it clear they don't want you to get pregnant after the bypass for awhile so this could be a win win situation for you...I am in the beginning stages of talking to the insurance and making an appointment to see if I am able to have surgery (wish me luck)...and good luck to you as well...hope this helped you a little
