New here!
Not to OH (since 2002!), but to this board. I have classic PCOS but MINUS the irregular periods (most of the time). I had a stillbirth in 97, then 5 miscarriages before finally conceiving triplets---and giving birth to fraternal twins in July 2006 (the third reabsorbed by 10 weeks). I had been on metformin for 18 months prior to conceiving. The girls are 4 years old now.
I have the voracious appetite, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, high triglycerides, have gained 75 pounds since I had my girls (lost weight in the pregnancy), facial hair, very oily skin, acne, depression, anxiety, mood swings, et al. My last endocrinologist took over for my original one (before I moved from TX to CO) and she diagnosed me based on my symptoms. I responded well to spironolactone and metformin but am told I cannot take spiro after the surgery.
I am scheduled for RNY surgery on December 14 of this year after trying to get various insurers to pay for it for a decade. Would love to connect with others who have had WLS and are dealing with PCOS--something tells me this is gonna be an uphill battle for me....
