PCOS and periods

I have had PCOS for awhile now and I only have my periods when i'm on birth control pills.  I recently had RNY on Oct 7 and have lost about 32 pounds now.  I was wondering if anyone who had a lack of periods before WLS had them naturally after surgery and if so how long it took for their body to straighten out? 

I'm hoping and praying that my surgery helps straighten my body out so that i can eventually have a baby especially since metformin doesn't work for me.  So any kind of info would be beneficial!!

Hi, I have PCOS too.  I had not had a period since Feb 2010 then on its own in Sept 2010 and I had surgery 10/4 and got my period 10/13 on its own. Good job on loosing so much! I've only lost about 18 lbs so far. I'm hoping that I get it next month too.  sounds like my goal of losing the weight and having a baby after is the same as yours--good luck!

 i got a really bad period day 4 postop, lasted two weeks
then got 2 other really bad ones and this month is not too bad considering the others but they have been consistently 30-31 days apart

my naturopath adivsed me to increase my intake of broccoli, cauliflower and cabbage as it helps balance the hormones as well as flax seeds/oil and some EFA's, i take about 3-4 a day fixes so many of my symptoms

if i don;t take my efa's OMG i swear it is like i am jekyll and hyde..crazy how much of a difference it makes
