last Thursday, the 9th... I was put on Metaformin.. I was told to take 1 (500 mg) pill a day for a week, 2 a day for the second week, and 4 a day thereafter... which is cool.. as long as it cures it.. but my question is... am I more likely to get pregnant if I miss a birth control pill now... Does this Metaformin medicine acually make you ovulate... ? How long after you were taking Metaformin did you become pregnant?

Thanks!

Just some info that I found helpful.

Women with polycystic ovarian syndrome often are infertile because they don't ovulate. 40% to 80% of women with PCOS have a problem with fertility. The reason for this wide variation is that polycystic ovary syndrome is a complex metabolic syndrome, with multiple factors that can interfere with fertility. Pcos isn't curable, only treatable. Metformin is a very pronounced drug in teh treatment of PCOS.

Metformin (Brand name: Glucophage). Metformin is an insulin-sensitizing agent that is sometimes used in conjunction with Clomid(fertitlity medication). Metformin may increase your fertility to the extent that it reduces insulin resistance, and thus helps to normalize insulin. Too much insulin reduces your fertility. But by no means is it a fertility drug.
