Fortamet?

I was just diagnosed with PCOS and the doctor prescribed me for fortamet. Is this a new kind of medicine?

Nope.  It's also known as Glucophage or Metformin (generic name).  It's been around forever.  Originally used to treat type 2 diabetes, it's also used for PCOS b/c it desensitizes the insulin receptors and helps with fertility problems in us.
