Period talk - TMI - xpost
Okay I warned you...
I got my surgery on 10/21...started period right after that but it was light and came and went quickly. I continued to have spotting/light flow about 95% of days for about a month. Then started SUPER heavy, almost unmanageable period for a at least 6 days. I have since had the light flow for most days after that and yesterday, I started another super heavy period.
I asked my surgeon about this at my 2 week post op appt and she said it would take about 3 months to work itself out because the surgery is an elective trauma to the body.
So, I'm at about 3 months since surgery and I made an appt with my regular doc to see about birth control pills or depo shot or something to regulate this.
I know many people have issues with their cycle after surgery - any suggestions?? THanks!!!

I have a Mirena IUD. I had inital light to medium spotting for about 5 weeks, but then only a handful of light periods since I had it put in April '08.
I'm hoping after my surgery it doesn't throw me off, though I do expect more of a medium to heavy period within a couple days. (happened when I had my GB out, too)
