I had rny bypass  dec 2nd and have been doing well. Prior to that I had been diagnosed with Mild PCOS. So, no periods, been on birth control forever and a day anyhow, now that i am post op i have switched to Depo shots and all of a sudden  my body has decided to have a period about a month after i get the shot, almost to the day.  This has happened my last 2 shots. More recently, i have been spotting for most of january. is this just my body regulating to losing so much weight? I am definitely not pregnant, so that is not an option. Anyone else had random stuff like this happen?

Hi everyone,
I have a similar question too!
I was banded on 12/14.  I have suffered with PCOS for the past 15ish years.  I haven't ever really had a reg. cycle and havent' had a "visit" since I had my daughter 5.5 yrs. ago.  I also have an IUD that affects this as well.  But only 3 weeks after my surgery I got my "visit" and to top it off, it is back 10 days later.  In this time I have also had bronchitis really bad, and a viral/bacterial infection.  I just feel like my immune system is really messed up.  Anyone had this experiece?

I am spotting right now as well. My cycle ended a week ago and a week later, spotting. I spoke to my nurse at my surgeon's office. She advised that fat has high levels of estrogen in it and as the body is losing fat all of the estrogen is coming into the blood system. Thus the spotting. Also it makes us very fertile. I plan to see my OB/GYN next week but I am hoping that he will confirm the same thing.....

Spotting is strange! Guess it is one of the things we have to look forward to as our bodies change.
