amount of lost weight
HI, I have a question. I went in for my 9 week check up with my surgeon,He said I was doing well, he then said I was losing slow and steady. what is this? first month 27 lbs. next month 20. lbs. Is this not normal? A girl friend said the same as the Doctor. I have read that having pcos make this harder and slower to lose. Nothing about my pcos is any different and now my hair is really falling out. I guess I could use some reassurance It is working and I'm not odd. My periods have shown up with a vengance. that's nice

I had the same issue as you. My surgeon didn't make a fuss over losing slow though. The first couple of months I lost steadily. Then like by the 5th, 6th month I noticed a plateau and my period had completely stopped. My hair started to fall out even more and the acne that I never had before came on with a vengeance. Oh and don't get me started with hair growing in places that I didn't even know existed. My surgeon would despise me whenever I brought up the pcos issue. He said with the weight loss that it should go away! Oh on the contrary it totally came at me! My PCP was the one *****ally helped me, she would really listen to my questions and concerns about the pcos and all my other health issues. My ob-gyn wasn't even concerned.I went through this whole ordeal. But I've noticed I was still losing just not as rapid as in the beginning. So to make a long story short I switched OB-GYN's talked and consulted and had a hysterectomy last month. Now I know my hysterectomy isn't going to cure pcos but it'll calm down my symptoms. But from my ob-gyn said that the reason pcos causes problems with weight loss is due to the insulin resistance. I've only lost a total of 54 pounds and tomorrow is my yr anniversary. So you could really say I'm a slow loser! But I'm happy with where I'm at and havent felt better in years so why complain. I hope that will give you some kind of idea about how pcos messes with you badly.
