I have looked through the topics to see if anyone has posted anything similar and I dont see anything so I have a few questions.

I have PCOS and was on spironolactone and metformin before surgery. I was taken off them after and have not been on them since.
I was on the BC pill when i had my surgery. I have had no problems with my periods since.
I did 2 years in go off the pill. just to give my body a break and i was curious to see if my periods would stay regular.
MY periods have stayed perfectly regular. BUt what i have noticed in the past year, is weight gain, raging carb cravings, thinner hair on my head, hair on my chin and face. I am wondering if my pcos could be the cause of this and if I should go back on the pill?

You're listing some of the shared symptoms other than period and insulin irregularities, soooo yes!

Short n sweet, ain't I? You look gorgeous btw.

I'm not sure what reasons you might have not to, honestly. It helps me a lot!

Have you asked your doctor to check your hormone levels?
The symptoms certainly sound like PCOS, but it could be a host of other things as well.
Take care!

The cause of your symptoms is insulin resistance caused by the PCOS and yes the Met will help. When the Doc's took me off my met I gained weight almost every day and all my other symptoms got A LOT worse. Just start with a low dose and use the minimum to stabilize your weight. Good luck with this I KNOW your misery.
