periods, periods, periods!

Hey everyone - I'm not sure I've posted on here before, so I'll introduce myself - I'm Jen and I had the sleeve on 10/2.  And now to just launch into my personal business...I feel like I've been getting my period constantly since surgery! And that's only a slight exaggeration - I've had it every other week like clockwork. I'm on the mini-pill which was controlling my PCOS well prior to surgery. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? What is the DEAL?! It's driving me (and my boyfriend!) crazy!!

The hormonal changes from the weight loss can certainly be causing the period issues.  But you should check in with whoever you see for your female issues (either your ob/gym or family doctor) so they know what is going on.

I am a wee bit concerned though that you were taking contraceptives to control the PCOS.  All that will do is take care of the reproductive aspects of PCOS.  PCOS is actually a metabolic/endocrine disorder and contraceptives will do nothing for that. http://www.infertilityphysician.com/androgen/pcos.html

Has there been anything else you've been doing for the PCOS?

Oh yes - I'm on metformin for insulin resistance and spironolactone for the excess facial/body hair...

I've had spotting consistently since my 1st month out from surgery. It is still lingering.
