post RNY and pcos???
ok so here is the deal i was diagnosed years ago with pcos but never really treated and never under control. i had RNY on the 14th of sept and i am wondering should i be more aggressive at this stage with getting the pcos under control. i have heard that people actually have trouble loosing weight after surgery if their pcos is not under control. any and all advice would be appreciated.
I had my surgery in Jan and it has complicated my weightloss. I have pcos and had no periods at all. I have a lot of issues because of the pcos but will be having a hysterectomy in Dec. to relieve some of the issues. I know this procedure won't cure them all but it will atleast help me with some. What basically complicates your weightloss with pcos is the insulin resistance. If your not having problems in that area I wouldn't worry about it. Thats what complicated my weightloss. I'm not complaining because I lost 50 pounds but I'm in size 4,6,8 depending on the style. But I'm also a little over 8 months out and should be at a lower weight but because of the pcos symptoms its practically impossible for me.
