ok i had a similar experience i hadnt had a period for months like 12 and the night before surgery here comes aunt flo! lol now i had spotted on occasion here and there but that was light and usually only for a day.  when i came out of surgery and moved to a regular room i stood up and thought i was bleeding out cause of the amount of blood that was on the floor and not coming from my abdomin.  from the md he said that is normal that u may have one before due to stress and nerves and diet changes but the excessive bleeding is normal cause of the blood thinners they have you on in the hosp a shot in the gut every 8 hours usually of heparin and that make you BLEEEEDDDD! good luck it sounds normal hang in there! i would venture to guess that your period is due to blood thinners from surgery.  (p.s. i am in healthcare)

That is interesting - I have PCOS too but I get periods.... where you on a protein liquid diet?  I am willing to bet that is why.  With PCOs just about the only thing your body metabolizes properly is protein - no fat no carbs.  I dropped weight like  crazy doing protein only diet (Unjury).  Now its slow w/ the lapband and food,  but i just got restriction... but I still try to keep it to low fat (40-50 grams) and if not working out 50 grams of carbs.
