I have been diagnosed with PCOS for awhile. I was able to conceive two times since my diagnoses (  i have 2 daughters 3 years old  and a 6month old.) Now I really want to get WLS before the year is out . I need advice on what Birth control method is the best for someone with PCOS and that has WLS.  I want to get the DS some I really don't want to take the pill  but if it's effective I will.
I don't want to get my tubes tie just yet we would like o possibly have another baby in 3-4 years

What birth control is the best for people who has had WLS ?

Thanks any advice would be appreciated

I am still pre-op but i just discussed this with the doc, and she recommended the shot, or the right , and after some weight loss i can do the patch.
If you could i would try an IUD, i tried it and it didn'y work out for me but it is good for up to 5 -10 years depending on what kind you get.

Hi.  I have PCOS and have had it for a while.  I am 10 months post op and my gynecologist recommended either an IUD (which I opposed because I want to conceive in the next 5 years) or NuvaRing.  Most people have LOTS of breakthrough bleeding with the IUD and even have to get it removed (it takes MONTHS for it to work properly, so you sort of have to ride out the storm for a while)  That being said - I LOVE MY NUVARING!! At first, I was a little bit apprehensive at the thought of 'inserting' something and taking it out every month.  But its just like a tampon..you don't know its there.  Additionally, there are several benefits to it because the estrogen dose you get through the ring is more evenly regulated so your body accepts it better.  I had no break through bleeding or spotting and just after one month of using it, I now have normal periods and have for the past 6 months.  My symptoms are much better, no really bad cramping and my period only lasts about 4-5 days.  Hope this helps! If you need more info, just PM me.

Since you've had children already (my girls are roughly the same ages as your kids...3 years & 7 months) you can either go with the NuvaRing or the IUD.  Personally I have the Mirena IUD and LOOOOOVE it!  No muss...no fuss...and good for up to 5 years.  I had an IUD inserted when my first child was 4m old and had it for a year.  Had it pulled and the month after it was removed got pregnant with my 2nd child.  When she was 4m old I had reinserted again and so far...so good!  Either way it's up to you.  As far as breakthrough bleeding with the IUD it can cause funky periods for a short time but it's not bad.  I had mine insterted in early April, had a period for about 2 weeks...then 2 weeks later had another one.  Then the next one came a month later and then about 2 weeks ago I spotted for about an hour and that was it.  I don't expect AF to come anymore as that's what happened with my last IUD.  Anyway...you really don't want to go a route of birth control that has to do with intestinal absorption as there is the possibility of it not being absorbed all the way for it to be as effective as it needs to be.

Good luck and if you have more questions about the Mirena IUD just ask!
