Nothing should happen to it since once a hair becomes what they call "terminal hair" it is permanently that way.  The only way to permanently get rid of terminal hair (or any hair) is by electrolysis.  Laser is also good but may regrow.  The only thing I could see WLS helping with is preventing our vellus hair from becoming terminal (thick) hair.  It's just like men who are transitioning to become women, they need electrolysis even if they are taking female hormones.

As for epilin, it's looks like any another waxing system. Since it does not contain any prescription drug designed to decrease hair growth, it can't claim to do so.

I personally had laser treatments about 5 years ago and am sooooo happy with my results.  It really changed my life.

how many times did you have to have the laser surgery so it would stop coming back?
and where did you have the hair that had to be removed?

just wondering

thanks

I had the laser hair removal proceedure for my upper lip my chin, side burns, and neck basically facial hair from the upper lip down. is where i had the proceedure. a friend is telling me to try blue water spa here in raleigh, nc and that they actually have a better improved laser for women of color. and that the laser does not have to be on  a very high setting to be effective.

I lost over 50 pounds after surgery and my facial hair seemed to get thicker.  I tried electrolysis but it left little dark spots on my upper lip for 3 months.  I finally went to a dermatologist and learned about the newer colorblind lasers that are safe for dark skin.  After 6 treatments, my facial hair is virtually gone.  It has changed my life.  Dr. Maryann Mikhail at Spring Street Dermatology did my treatments - www.springstderm.com.  She gives a discount for people with PCOS.  Now all I need is a good plastic surgeon for excess skin under my arms - can anyone recommend somebody in the New York area that won't break the bank?  I am slightly nervous about having surgery again...

Hi!  I see that you said you had good results from Spring Street Derm.  I had laser done 10 years ago and had scars from it.  I'm nervous but your post gives me hope...as I live in NYC.  Thank you for sharing!  I'm going to make an appt. because the dark chin and lip area is really frustrating me.  Make-up can only cover so  much...sigh.
