pcos symptoms better after wls?
i was diagnosed with pcos in 2005. i think the only symptoms i had were irregular periods (they are on track now) more facial hair, weight gain and possibley a very little thingin of the hair on my head. i had gastric bypass 23 days ago and im wondering how long (if ever) any of your symptoms that match mine above got better? or am i destined to have a couple hairs on my chin and sideburn area forever?i pluck them put it would be nice for them to go away for good! also do women with pcos lose weight slower or any different then "regular" wls patients?
Congrats on your surgery! I can tell you that PCOS or not everyone looses at a different rate. I lost 100lb in the 1st 6 months and then it took me another 6 months to loose 14 lbs. Anyway all of my pcos symptoms went away except for the facial hair because unfortunately once it's grown in...it's there unless permanently removed with laser removal or something like that.
I went on the patch at 2m out from surgery so my periods were regulated until I stopped using it at 1 year post op. I can say that when I did stop using the patch I went from no periods at all to regular periods and I was even ovulating. A big difference from being clomid & injectable resistant!
Anyway good luck!

Congrats on your surgery!!I was diagnosed many years ago as well (Iam 30) but am preop still and actually had a hysterectomy in February. I just wanted to add in that Im interested to see t he answers to your question, since I have the same question myself. Im wondering if anyof those wonderful PCOS signs go away as the weight goes bye-bye!Do you guys also have browning of your skin? My neck and upper inside thighs are very brown coloured and I also have brown patches on my breasts, underarms, tummy and legs!
