Hysterectomy after WLS
I have PCOS and had a hystero in February. Unfortunatly I have NOT had WLS yet. Im in Ontario, Canada and the entire process takes quite some time!
Fortunatly with my hystero they left one ovary and one fallopian tube in, so I didnt go through early menopause and thus, I dont need to take hormones. As long as they leave at least one ovary in, that eliminates the need for HRT.
Im not sure what your situation is or if that is an option for you, but thought I would mention it. As to your actual question, Im not sure what the effect of HRT would have on the weight gain/loss factor.
Have you had WLS surgery yet, and what type?

I had my surgery in Jan and have been having issues with weight coming off. I've had several stalls and stay there for weeks at a time. I had the RNY so I really don't understand why i am having issues losing. I am IR and my PCP has me metformin 1000mg. I am also having issues with irregular periods and was diagnosed with dysplasia and have been getting paps done every 3 months. Had Leep procedure done in Jan also. I have been very persistent with my OBGYN about the hysterectomy but he does not want to do the procedure. I am having a lot of female issues and he just doesn't understand. I am scheduled for an ultra sound next week to see if there are any cysts in my uterus or anywhere else. That was actually scheduled through my PCP so I think if I keep having issues I will just discuss the matter with her and have her refer me to someone who will preform the procedure. I'm just curious if the whole hystero thing will further complicate my weight loss? Since alot women experience that after a hystero. Atleast that is what they say.....
GOD DOES NOT GIVE YOU MORE THAN YOU CAN HANDLE.
