This thread is fascinating, I've had these for years and no one - including my OBGYN could explain them.

One of my previous obgyn's didn't know what they were, either, and I just learned last year that PCOS is the reason. I have to say that since surgery, I've had fewer, thank goodness. I hate them!

Failure is not an option!

I have boils constantly my last doctor said that he could always tell if my blood sugar was out of wack by how many boils I had. I was diagnosed with endometreosis at 15 and PCOS at 27 but I wonder if I had PCOS all along. My husband and I have been trying for years for a baby and my new doctor thinks RNY will help scheduled for 6-10-09. I hope it helps my boil situation too.

I can always tell when I've gotten off my schedule taking my birth control pills. I got a boil! Usually in my inner thigh. I've actually gotten one once in an area we speak not of.  I was soooo cranky that time.

I get them inside and outside. I had no idea what they were until I had some medical records sent to my weight loss surgeon. On the notes my OBGYN had marked something about "boils" in the notes. I told my weight loss doc I get them inside and out several times a years and always thought they were zits, lol.  Come to find out they are boils from my PCOS!! Ugh...now as for treatment, no one seems to be able to help me in that department. This thread is really helpful!

OMG, I thought I was the only person in the world that had these and was too embarassed to speak of them, especially the ones in places we don't usually talk about.  With my PCOS raging it is good to know I am not alone.

I do have to say that I have found that spironolactone helps my PCOS, especially the hair loss and extra hair all over.

There are those that are great and those that have greatness thrust upon them, which are you?

I get these terrible to, to the point I cannot walk, The only thing that works for me is LIDODERM skin patches, i cut the in half, it numbs them and pulls the abscess out.

I am really curious if the rny has helped any of you get them less frequently . . . I have hidradenitis very bad I have it on my stomach groin legs arms breasts behind ears neck etc. It is one of the main reasons I got referred to the surgery.

I am hoping it helps.
