Lap Band and PCOS Question
I see these messages are pretty old but I also have PCOS and am considering looking into lap band. I have researched the gastric sleeve and it just scared me to try that. The lap band looks a tad less envasive. I am still nervous to try anything but I am so TIRED of being over 200 pounds. I am beyond tired of it. How did it go for everyone who has tried it?

Hello I have PCOS and my primary dr has said if I can find the lap band helps even if you have pcos then he would refer me. I have had PCOS since I was in my early teens. I have infertility, diabetes, hypertention, hyperlipidemia, and many other health problems. I feel depressed and wish something would help. I have excercised, trained and ran a 5k, still did not lose next to no weight. Very very depressing. I hope I can find some answers here.
Thanks for listening to me.
Thanks for listening to me.
HI ! I have PCOS too! My endocrinologist recommend RNY because a hormonal change happens at the time of surgery and/or immediately in recovery. They see this change in diabetics and those with other hormonal issues.
Since your GI tract isnt being stapled/cut/rerouted in Lap band, she did not think that lap band would correct the hormonal problem.
Hence she recommended RNY. I am metformin free for two months now!
