How does the Dr determine how many mg's of Met?
I just started Met a couple weeks ago and it seems like my body has adjusted to it. And by that I mean no more several trips to the bathroom with severe diarhea. So I was thinking about calling the Dr to let him know that my body is handeling well and see if he wants to up the dosage I take daily. But I am kind of confused. Maybe someone has explained in detail to someone here how many mg's is the right amount? I understand the Met is to help with the insulin factor but is it like the more you take the better it helps? I just dont get it? Can someone explain to me please?
I take Riomet, a liquid form of Metformin. The tablets were just to harsh on my RNY pouch. I take 1.5 tsp a day, one dose, once a day, which equals 1000 mgs. a day I think. I've had NO side effects or adverse reactions to it at all. My BS has stabelized greatly, but my weight is still comming off slowly. Most of my PCOS symptoms have disappeared, especially the pain at ovulation...its non existant now. I have been on it about 6 weeks now, so the positive WLS effects should be kicking in soon. Wish me luck as I wish you luck!
