PCOS symptoms coming back

I have always struggled to adhere to the eating plan since surgery, eating high sugar foods very early on. Lately I've completely abandoned the eating style I need and have been eating lots of high carb foods. I have gained five pounds which is not alot considering what I've been doing. but the the that concerns me the most is that my pcos symptoms are coming back. My period took alot longer to get here and I have major acne on my face. I am so sad that I have done this to myself. rny was not a cure, just a tool. I knew that logically but a part of me is in major denial and does not want to accept i can not eat high carb foods. Why is this so hard to overcome?

Thank you for sharing.  I am sorry to hear you are struggling.  I have been having a hard time in deciding which sugery due to my PCOS

Highest weight: 325.5 (2008)                   Surgery weight: 323.5 (1/8/09)

****Got pregnant in May 2011 but lost the baby in August 2011...Gained some weight so trying to get back on track...I hate PCOS.

i think that all surgeries work if you follow the eating plan. i know a bandster who just had a baby so you don't have to get rny but if you have major eating issues you need to get the rny or maybe even ds. good luck and thanks for your concern. today is my third day back on track with my food. keep your fingers crossed for me.

Hey baby girl, you talking about me? LOL  I pop in on this forum every now and then because despite my weight loss and having a baby, I will always have PCOS (1 baby conceived with a lot of fertility drugs and this baby conceived completely naturally...never thought I'd see the day where I would have a tubal ligation, but I had one!).  I hope you are well and ANYTIME you need to talk feel free to email/call/stop by!!!  As for the carbs...I still crave for them and it does hinder my weight loss.  I have a fill appointment the end of this month and it's back to basics for me from that point on.  I have given myself these six weeks between having Lacie and the fill appointment (29th) to heal up and to get my head on straight with food choices so I can forge ahead.  My goal weight is 180 and I want to get there by the end of July.  I can do it and I know you can get back on track too!

Revised to VSG (6/11/09) weighing 253...

I think my PCOS symptoms have a lot to do with insulin and insulin resistance.  It would make sense that if you are eating more sugar your insulin resistance is up and so is the amount of extra insulin in your body.
I am only 2 months out but I completely understand the struggle with food.  GOod Luck
