I don't want to scare anybody but I never had a period for long lengths of time.  One time it had been 6 months and I started bleeding and it was taking more than the usual week and I went to the doctor.  She got upset and told me it is very important to have a period and when we don't, the lining becomes really thick and we can go into cancer of the uterus.  It can turn pre-cancerous after 3 months. Then I realized how serious it is to have a period.  Since then the metformin and yaz birth control have helped me to regulate my period but I'm not TTC.  I'm waiting to see if I can finance wls here in the us or possible in mexico.

I just wanted to stress how important having a period is.  There is a thread about it on solcysters.net.
