PCOS and Fatty Liver

I was wondering if anyone here with PCOS has also been diagnosed with fatty liver? If so were you told the two were related through insulin resistance?

I was diagnosed with both but was not told they are related.  However insulin levels being elevated can  cause abdominal fat and fatty liver can be caused by obesity so I quess you could sort of say they are related.  That is why I am looking forward to RNY in just 17 days to help with some of my issues.

I was told I had both but the idea of relation never came up. Intresting...........

Question: would this cause you to act like a diabetic patient ( symptoms)? fmoi

     I'm fairly new here. Signed up months ago, but finally decided to pursue the DS surgery. That said, I've had PCOS for as long as I could remember. PCOS and a fatty liver are absolutely related via insulin resistance. When I discovered that I had PCOS (after having years of symptoms and a slew of doctors) I ended up having so many x-rays, sonograms and scans and there they discovered the fattly liver. My endo told me that it is such a hand in hand issue. If you have PCOS, often you'll have a greater risk of a fatty liver and of course, the PCOS is from having insulin instability. I was 30 when I was diagnosed and well I've had so many issues with PCOS, that honestly, this is the only way I feel that I can get a handle on my life, fertility, weight and so on. I'm also new here, but have both of these conditions. The fatty liver was just discovered. I was told that the two were connected and I have seen it online while researching too. Hopefully if/when I get my WLS these will both improve or even go away for the most part.
