PCOS Newcomer Need Help!
Hi everyone :) Ive read most of the posts on here and love the support found here. I am currently living with PCOS and just found out about it the first of the year... .. i live on Catalina Island so my resources are near to nothing. I can always come back to the coast and buy stuff from a health store but i am not quite sure what works. Do you have any ideas that doesn't take insurance? I am already taking Fish Oil pills three times a day and multivitamin but it doesnt seem to be working..
thank you for your help!

Hi Jenna! I know that for many women with PCOS that eating a diet high in protein and low in carbs can help with the insulin resistance part of it.
Aside from that many PCOS symptoms go away with weight loss as mine did. I'm PCOS symptom free now after loosing 114lb (ok...so I've regained some weight but you can tell by my siggy that it's all for good reason!). Good luck!
If I could just get rid of this nasty hirsutism problem! Most of my symptoms are gone but I still suffer from Depression. My periods were coming more frequently since losing all the weight but Mirena is helping to get that straightened out.
I agree about the high protein, low carb diet. also a good place to research is Soul Cysters website.
i went a long time with out taking any pills perscribed by a doctor. i just used chromium picolinate (spelling?) to boost my metabolism. that's about it really. there's nothing that stops or helps the irregular hair growth or the loss of hair or the horrible cramps or or or *lol* sorry!!
