..how long did it take you to notice a change in your irregular hair growth, after WLS? I got the beard thing goin...even after electolisis, and laser treatments. as the years have progressed it's gotten worse, and even extended to darkening my chest hairs, toe and finger and hand hairs too!
So, i'm almost two months out from WLS...how soon after your WLS did you begin to notice any changes? : )

It took a bit and the difference wasn't major.  Basically I noticed that although it didn't get better it had stopped getting worse.  Good luck!

I did notice a difference the first year, but now I am 21 mos postop and the hair has returned. I had gotten off of Spironolactone as I thought that the wls would "cure" hirsutism. It did not cure it.  Therefore the hair grew back. I get laser hair treatments on occasion, and it has helped...  it made the black hairs blonde in places!

I did get back on the spironolactone and have been taking it for a few months. But it increased my potassium level so the gyn cut back my dosage.  It takes a few months for that to get into your system and start working... I'm hoping it comes back soon. I hate plucking!

hmm well that sucks! thank you for the info though. i guess i better just count on having it still *lol* my hair is a little bit red so the laser treatments i've done have never worked for me : ( electrolysis has worked, but of course it will take like a million treatments to get rid of it all!!

I went through 7 rounds of laser hair removal. Well it didn't work as great as I thought it would. It did reduce it though. In order to have it done the hair must be dark or have some kind of pigment other than blonde. As I was doing the treatments it was definately better. Once I stopped it started again getting worse but I think I may have activated it again do to the fact I have gained some weight which is never good with PCO. I am thinking of going back again cause I really need to. I could go all day without feeling stuble later in the day and now its back to where I can and I don't like that. I am also going to go on a low carb diet. Got to get back on track.
Best of luck!

I'm one year out and almost to a "normal" BMI and my PCOS seems to be completely under control.  I've had 7 laser treatments over the last 8 months and I'm pretty disappointed. The hair grows a lot slower and a lot is gone but not anywhere near what I was hoping for.

Next stop - electrolysis
.
