I got banded on 5/13 this year..... I haven't had a period in a year and a month. Before that, I had a period once every 3-4 months (due to PCOS of course)......

Well... when I hit my 30lb loss, I got my period!! I was so in chock... the cramps started and I couldn't even recognize what it was because it hadn't happened in SO long.

And 2 days ago..... AGAIN!!! This is the second month in a ROW I am getting it. It's amazing....

Just wanted to share because I know all of you can understand where I am coming from.

I am a candidate for all WLS but i have chosen to go with lapband. I have also been diagnosed with PCOS. I did IVF w/ICSI and it worked the first time. We tried two more times after that and it failed. My doctor said it was because of my weight. I have done metphormin and for me it gave me an upset stomach all the time. I had to take 500mg twice a day.  It did curb my appetite, but it was also because I knew once I ate where I was headed. Since Feb 08 I haven't had a period, but the weight and facial hair is  getting worse! I cant wait to be banded so that I can hopefully conceive on my own! Wish me luck on everything!

That's awesome! Congrats on your choice!!!! It has really helped me and I hope it will do the same for you. If you check out the LapBand forum, there are a lot of PCOSers there too.
