how long did it take you to

have your period after surgery RNY? I never have a period on my own but wonder if it will jump start me. I sill be having surgery on July 22.08. Should I order a refill on my provera or wait until after the surgery? Kit

Hi Kit I have PCOS and took Provera, too. I had my surgery on 6/17 and got a REAL period on 6/24 - no help needed ! Whoa!

I had two good periods after my surgery (2/12/08) and for the last 2 or so months I have just spotted off an on continuously.  I am planning on going in to see my ob soon.  Someone told me it was due to the fat cells releasing estrogen but who knows.  It is a very light spotting but no period really so that stinks.

I got AF on my own 4 months after my surgery. For most people, it returns sooner, but I had a lot of trauma and complications after my surgery. Since my period came back, I have been totally regular, 28 days, and am even ovulating on my own. Yay!

I had surgery on 4/29 and anutie flo showed on 5/3 as i was getting ready to leave the hospital. I would say to expect it soon. i even luckily took pads with me to the hospital b/c hospital pads are horrible. Hope that helps.

I had my surgery on 6/17 and actually got my period on 6/14.  So i was on it during my surgery!  GREAT.  Loved it.  I have not gotten it yet.  But I am not at the month mark yet.  I am done having children and hubby got snipped, so I am not to worried about it coming or not.  But then again, if I go without having it, when I do have it, it is hell on earth.  So hopefully I will start within the next month.

Got it while I was in the hospital and have been regular ever since!  Whoo hoo!!!  :)

I was on the pill the first six months off the surgery.  I stopped a month ago, just to test my cycle, and I had a normal 28 day cycle.  The first of my life...lol!  I was so excited.  I'm waiting to make sure it happens again this month. :)
