FATTY LIVER

Did any of you along with your PCO have a fatty liver going into surgery?

I am 10 days pre op and I have a fatty liver.

I can feel mine too.  My Dr put me on a OptiFast.  I am about 9 days out till my surgery.  It is suppose to shrink my fatty liver.  But I am having mine donw laproscopic.

i didn't think i had one, but during surgery the other day the doc said did,,,but it wasn't bad enough to do a biopsy, and he said he wasnt worried. so...i'm guessing it goes away after surgery?

Yep.  Fatty liver is pretty common for anyone who's morbidly obese.  That's part of the reason for the pre-op liquid diet.  They want to shrink the liver.  :-)

Awesome weight loss way to go.. yes I just remember the Doc saying that some times when they get in the liver is too big and they have to do the rny open ..just wondering how many this happens to.. Thanks for the info..

I have PCOS and a fatty liver. I got a liver biopsy done (not fun) a month ago to show I have stage 2 fatty liver. I am presurgery and have yet to talk to my surgeon about using optifast or something like that. Kitty
