OK I have PCOS and my period has never and I say never been normal. Well my period started 4 days after surgery well exactly 2 weeks later it started again. What's going on? Did anyone have this to happen. I did loose some weight a few years back( like 30lbs) and this happened to me then. is it just my hormones trying to regulate? Another question how long after surgery or after how many pounds did your cycles regulate? TIA. P&PT's.

Mine did that too but after about 2 months they regulated pretty well.  If you continue having problems then call your GYN, they may have to put you on something short term.  But I'm sure it's just your body regulating again.

Hormones are stored in fat as we lose weight we have the hormones added into our bodies that were previously stored in the fat we are burning off.  That is why many women have crazy periods when losing weight. catnip

I, too, have PCOS with no normal cycle. Within 3 days of having back surgery in Feb. my period started. After it...nothing until May when 3-4 days after my Lap RNY my period arrived again. Strange!  And certainly NOT the most convenient times!!  I don't expect regulated cycles with weight loss as I was this way when I was 120 lbs. but perhaps there is a side factor to the surgery that I'm not aware of.  Christine
