I'm schedule for VSG in september with DR. Alvarez....  I just want people that have the Slevee to tell me if I'm making the right desicion? Does this Surgery will help me to loose this extra weight for ever? will I regreat this? would I be happy? how much can I loose? My bmi is consider low right now i'm in 34BMI I need to loose about 65 to 70 pounds..... how my body will know when to stop? I want to loose the weight but I dont want to look so skinny....

As you know, I am just like you! When I was in my early 20's my weight was even lower than that, but like you said, it just kept going up. I have not had this WLS yet, but I hope to. I have heard that it is slower for us [pcos people] to lose it, but you will loose it, well that is what was told to me. You just need to talk to your Dr and tell him/her of your fears. But I found great comfort by asking questions in here!

you have plenty of time. just google things you read about on the boards! no decision can be too informed. the VGS is a great tool to lose weight...but it is hard to keep the weight off long term. Of course it's that way with all WLS. with some it is easier than with others. just take a bit to really analyze your eating styles, and your life style. take a look at all the surgeries out there, and see if the VSG is really the best fit for you. if it is, great! you've learned more about yourself, and your surger! if not, well there's obviously going to be something else better for you, and you can learn about it, and your doc should be willing to help you get it! anyway, i don't think you'll have to worry about being too skinny! just manage your diet, and you will be just fine! congrats on your WLS, and stop by again!

Only you can decide if you are making the right decision...based on what I have read I think the lap band is something you should also look into and research a great deal. Lyns
