For those who are looking to get pregnant!
My husband and I were just about to start fertility treatments this week when I recieved a phone call from our RE. I had a beta done this morning before I started provera and it came back that I AM PREGNANT!!! I have had SEVERE PCOS with no periods before having surgery unless they were induced. This surgery and pregnancy is truely a miracle and does work!!! I just wanted to give you all hope that it can and will happen for you :)
Hi Rachel!
Congratulations!! That's awesome! I'm in the same boat that you were in before your surgery. I'm working towards having my surgery (insurance requirements) and I have Severe PCOS also. I want to badly to get pregnant and I do hope that it will happen after the surgery like yours! :o) Were you on birth control anytime before or after your surgery? I've heard that they don't want you to get pregnant for at least 12 months after surgery.
Congratulations!!!
Michelle
Hi Michelle!
Yes I was on the nuvaring for about 6 months post op. I discussed it with my OB who said that she wanted me to go off of it for 6 months before ttc. It is amazing how weight loss can affect PCOS. I still have it, but I am obviously ovulating, having a period, my dark skin is almost gone, my acne had cleared up before pregnancy, blood pressure was normal and my IR was a thing of the past. I would say pretty close to a cure LOL!
I am still just so stunned :)
CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Posts like this give me hope...thank you! :) I have 3 more pounds to goal, then my surgeon wants me to maintain for a few months before ttc. I'm so exicted though! I wish I could start now!!! Oh well, the time will go quickly.
Good luck over the next few months, and again...congrats!
Congratulations! I too have severe PCOS and prior to surgery never had a period without Provera (and even that did little for me). I'm now pregnant with my 2nd post op baby and thrilled! I just know that had it not been for my WLS I'd never have been able to get pregnant.
So ladies...never give up! It took me 10 years to have my daughter...and now with her being just 21 months old we're expecting our 2nd miracle!
Good luck!

This gives me hope..I only hear the negative stories about getting pregnant. My husband and I have not been trying for three years but well..we havent really not tried either ..if that makes sense..
Now I am really ready to try so hoping that things get better. Im so happy for you and cant wait to hear more great news as the little bubba grows within.
